Lumbar Control Switch - Removal

REMOVAL

Special Tools:

WARNING:
Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE:
Take the proper precautions to protect the face of the seat cushion side shield from cosmetic damage while performing this procedure.

NOTE:
Driver side shown. Passenger side similar.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the outboard seat cushion side shield (3) from the seat Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal.

3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (3) from the lumbar control switch (1).

4. Using Trim Stick (C-4755) or equivalent, carefully disengage the four retaining tabs (2 and 5) that secure the lumbar control switch to the seat cushion side shield and remove the switch.
