Ignition Coil - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Using compressed air, blow out any dirt or contaminants from around the top of spark plug.
2. The ignition coil seal (1) can be reused if not damaged.
3. Check the condition of the ignition coil rubber boot (2). To aid in ignition coil installation, apply a silicone based grease such as Mopar(R) Dielectric Grease # J8126688 into the spark plug end of the rubber boot (3).
NOTE: Number 1 cylinder ignition coil shown, all others similar.
4. Position the ignition coil (1) into the cylinder head cover opening. Using a twisting action, push the ignition coil onto the spark plug.
5. Install the ignition coil mounting bolt (3) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs).
6. Connect and lock the electrical connector (2) to the ignition coil (1).
7. Install the oil separator housing (4) to the cylinder head cover with three bolts (2) tightened to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.).
8. Connect the vent hose (3) to the oil filler neck.
9. Connect the PCV hose (1) to the intake manifold.
10. Install the air cleaner body (6) Air Cleaner Body - Installation.
11. Install the engine cover (1).
12. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
