Test AB: The Generator(s) Are Noisy

AB1 - Check The Drive Belt And Mounting Brackets

AB1:

Check the drive belt for damage and to verify correct installation.

Check the generator mounting brackets for loose bolts or misalignment.

Are the drive belt and generator mounting brackets OK?

YES GO to AB2.

NO REPAIR as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.

AB2 - Check The Generator Pulleys

Check for bent, loose or misaligned generator pulleys.

Are the generator pulley(s) OK?

YES GO to AB3.

NO INSTALL a new pulley(s) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.

AB3 - Check The Upper Generator For Noise

AB3:

With the engine running, check the upper generator for noise.

Is the upper generator noisy?

YES INSTALL a new upper generator. TEST the system for normal operation.

NO GO to AB4.

AB4 - Check The Lower Generator For Noise

AB4:

With the engine running, check the lower generator for noise.

Is the lower generator noisy?

YES INSTALL a new lower generator. CLEAR the codes and test the system for normal operation.

NO CHECK the accessory mounting brackets for loose bolts or misalignment.
