Pinpoint Test R1:

Pinpoint Test R: DTC B2141 Non-Volatile Memory Configuration Fault

Normal Operation

The air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module memory must be configured differently for vehicles with different options. This can be done using an appropriate scan tool.

The ECS checks the memory option content for the correct configuration.
If the ECS detects an incorrect configuration, it will store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B2141 in memory and flash the air bag indicator five times per second.

Possible Causes
A non-volatile memory configuration fault can be caused by:
- an incorrect configuration file used.
- a damaged or inoperative ECS module.
