Pinpoint Test G: The Check Fuel Cap Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On (Base Instrument Cluster)
Normal Operation
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the status of the evaporative emission system for significant leaks that occur following refueling of the vehicle. The PCM sends a message to the instrument cluster over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) to illuminate the check fuel cap warning indicator when a loose or missing fuel cap is detected.
