Normal Operation
For vehicles without traction control/stability assist, the instrument cluster sends a reference voltage to the ABS module through circuit 603 (DG). When an ABS concern is present, the ABS module grounds circuit 603 (DG) and the instrument cluster illuminates the ABS warning indicator.
For vehicles with traction control/stability assist, the status of the ABS system is sent to the instrument cluster from the ABS module over the communication network. The instrument cluster monitors the ABS input and illuminates the ABS warning indicator when a concern is present.
Possible Causes
- Circuit 603 (DG) open or short to ground (without traction control/stability assist)
- ABS module
- Instrument cluster
