Test B: Adjustable Brake Pedal Does Not Operate Correctly

PINPOINT TEST B: ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - USING THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH (SYSTEM WITH MEMORY FEATURE); DTCs B1987, B1988 AND B1989 - PEDAL FORWARD/REARWARD MOTOR STALLED, PEDAL POSITION FORWARD SWITCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY AND PEDAL POSITION REARWARD SWITCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY
Refer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Adjustable Pedals for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation
To move the pedal rearward, the adjustable pedal switch provides a ground path for the driver seat module (DSM) along circuit CPP10 (BN/BU), through the adjustable pedal switch and finally along circuit GD133 (BK). The DSM then provides voltage to the adjustable pedal motor along circuit CPP01 (WH/OG), through the adjustable pedal motor and back into the DSM along circuit CPP02 (BN).

To move the pedal forward, the adjustable pedal switch provides a ground path for the DSM along circuit CPP09 (VT/OG), through the adjustable pedal switch and finally along circuit GD133 (BK). The DSM then provides voltage to the adjustable pedal motor along circuit CPP02 (BN), through the adjustable pedal motor and back into the DSM along circuit CPP01 (WH/OG).

Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Circuit shorted
^ Adjustable pedal switch
