Test G: The Odometer Is Inoperative

PINPOINT TEST G: THE ODOMETER IS INOPERATIVE

G1-G2:

Normal Operation
The odometer is displayed in the message center vacuum fluorescent display. The instrument cluster receives the odometer rolling count data from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus and displays the data in the odometer display area of the message center. If the instrument cluster does not receive the vehicle rolling count message from the PCM or the rolling count data is deemed invalid by the instrument cluster, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0100.

NOTE: If DTC U0100 is set in the instrument cluster, other observable symptoms may be an inoperative speedometer, tachometer and temperature gauge.
