Normal Operation
The charging system warning indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster based upon data received from the generator through circuit 904 (LG/RD). The instrument cluster sets DTC B1317 if the battery voltage exceeds 16.5 volts DC ± 0.5 volts DC, when the ignition switch is in the START/RUN position. The instrument cluster sets DTC B1318 if battery voltage drops to less than 9 volts DC ±0.5 volts DC, when the ignition switch is in the START/RUN position.

DTC P0623 - sets if the PCM detects a fault on charging system indication circuit 904 (LG/RD) on vehicles equipped with dual generators.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 904 (LG/RD) open
- Generator
- PCM (dual generators only)
- Instrument cluster
