Test F: The Battery Saver Does Not Deactivate After Time-Out
PINPOINT TEST F: THE BATTERY SAVER DOES NOT DEACTIVATE AFTER TIME-OUTNormal Operation
During the battery saver function, the instrument cluster (IC) provides a ground circuit for the battery saver relay through circuit 1005 (VT/OG) when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. The battery saver relay provides power to circuit 54 (LG/YE) for a predetermined time after the ignition switch has been cycled from the ON position to the OFF position. Once the predetermined time-out has elapsed, the IC deactivates the battery saver relay and removes power from circuit 54 (LG/YE).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Battery saver relay
- IC
