Test W: The Traction Control/Stability Assist Indicator Is Never/Always On
PINPOINT TEST W: THE TRACTION CONTROL/STABILITY ASSIST INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ONNormal Operation
The traction control/stability assist indicator flashes when the vehicle traction control or roll stability assist system is in active mode or is being controlled by the ABS module (roll stability assist) or the PCM (traction control). The instrument cluster (IC) receives the traction control/stability assist signal from the ABS module (roll stability assist) or the PCM (traction control) through the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The instrument cluster (IC) monitors the traction control/stability assist signal and, when the ABS module (roll stability assist) or the PCM (traction control) detects a concern, the instrument cluster (IC) illuminates the traction control/stability assist indicator.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- ABS module
- PCM
- Instrument cluster (IC)
