Test I: The Courtesy Lamps Are Inoperative From The Headlamp Switch

PINPOINT TEST I: THE COURTESY LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE FROM THE HEADLAMP SWITCH

Normal Operation - Except Stripped Chassis
During the demand lighting function, the instrument cluster (IC) monitors the headlamp switch status on circuit 402 (OG/LG) for ground supplied through the headlamp switch. The headlamp switch is grounded through circuit 938 (BK/LG).

Normal Operation - Stripped Chassis
During the demand lighting function, the central junction box (CJB) provides voltage through circuit 54 (LG/YE) to the headlamp switch. The headlamp switch provides voltage to the dome lamp through circuit 53 (BK/LB). Circuit 54 (LG/YE) provides power to each demand lamp switch and when activated, provides power to the selected demand lamp.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Headlamp switch
