Pinpoint Test A: All Power Windows are Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
When the ignition key is placed in the RUN or ACCESSORY positions, the accessory delay relay provides voltage to the LH and RH window control switch through circuit CBP47 (GN/BU). Ground is provided to the LH window control switch through circuit GD133 (BK).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Circuit breaker
- Accessory delay relay
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- LH window control switch
PINPOINT TEST A: ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE
-------------------------------------------------
A1 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU) FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: LH Window Control Switch C504.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between LH window control switch C504-7, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to A2.
No
VERIFY Smart Junction Box (SJB) circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, Go To Pinpoint Test D to diagnose the accessory delay circuit. Pinpoint Test D: The Delayed Accessory Is Inoperative
If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
A2 CHECK THE LH WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance between the LH window control switch C504-2, circuit GD133 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new LH window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
