Pinpoint Test F: The Audio Control Module (ACM) Does Not Respond To Touchscreen Or Button Presses - Vehicles With Navigation

Normal Operation

When a button is pressed on the Audio Control Module (ACM) (whether it is a hard button or the touchscreen), the ACM takes the corresponding action.

- DTC U2013:63 (Switch Pack: Circuit / Component Protection Time-Out) - sets in continuous memory when an ACM hard button is stuck for longer than 2 minutes, or during the on-demand self-test, if an ACM hard button is detected as active for any duration. Make sure no ACM buttons are pressed during the self-test.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- ACM



PINPOINT TEST F: THE ACM DOES NOT RESPOND TO TOUCHSCREEN OR BUTTON PRESSES - VEHICLES WITH NAVIGATION

F1 CHECK FOR DTC U2013:63


- Ignition ON.
- Clear the ACM DTCs.
- Wait 3 minutes.
- Repeat the ACM self-test, making sure that no buttons are pressed during the test.
- Is DTC U2013:63 set in the ACM?

Yes
GO to F2.

No
GO to F3.

F2 CHECK FOR A STUCK BUTTON


- NOTE: Do not press any ACM buttons during this step.

- Carry out the hardkey test. Refer to Audio Control Module (ACM) Self-Diagnostic Mode Audio Control Module (ACM) Self-Diagnostic Mode.
- Does the hardkey test indicate a stuck button?

Yes
ATTEMPT to repair the stuck button. If no repair is possible, GO to F3.

No
GO to F3.

F3 CHECK FOR CORRECT ACM OPERATION


- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect all the ACM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the ACM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new ACM. REFER to Audio Control Module (ACM) Audio Control Module (ACM). TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
