Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Service and Repair

Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch









1. NOTE: Ignition must be OFF when disconnecting the Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) switch electrical connector. Otherwise, a DTC will be set in the Restraints Control Module (RCM) memory and must be cleared before releasing the vehicle.

Turn the ignition OFF and wait at least one minute.

2. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel. For additional information, refer to Removal and Installation portion of Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.

3. Remove the 3 screws and PAD switch.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
