Thermostat - 4.6L (3V)

Removal and Installation









1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. Remove the Throttle Body (TB). For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

3. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube.

4. Remove the bolts and position the thermostat housing cover aside.

5. Remove the O-ring seal and the thermostat.

Installation

1. Install the thermostat with the spring facing down.

2. NOTE: Inspect the thermostat housing cover O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal, if necessary.

Install the O-ring seal.

3. Position the thermostat housing cover and the bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

4. Connect the fuel vapor hose.

5. Install the TB. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

6. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
