Extended Idle Shutdown Initialization
Extended Idle Shutdown Initialization
1. NOTE: Repair DTC P0602 (Powertrain Control Module Program Error) and all DTCs related to the parking brake, the base hydraulic brake system and accelerator pedal. These DTCs being present will prevent the Circuit Deactivation Ignition Module (CDIM) from being enabled.
Apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (engine off).
3. Fully depress the brake and accelerator pedals.
4. NOTE: Do not change the pedal positions. Changing the pedal positions during the enabling procedure will reset the 240-second timer to zero.
Keep both pedals depressed for 240 seconds (4 minutes).
- At the end of 240 seconds, the powertrain Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (wrench light) will flash for 20 seconds.
- Both pedals may be released once the MIL (wrench light) begins to flash.
- If the system is already enabled, the MIL (wrench light) will not turn on or flash.
5. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
