Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Transceiver









Removal and Installation

1. With the ignition lock cylinder in the ON position, press the ignition lock cylinder release button with a suitable tool (such as a pick or scratch awl) and pull the ignition lock cylinder out of the steering column.

2. Remove the steering column opening panel cover and reinforcement. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim.

3. Remove the tilt column handle.

4. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

6. Open the 2 clockspring wiring harness guides.

7. Remove the screw and the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver.

8. NOTE: Replacement of the PATS transceiver does not require the PATS keys to be programmed into the Instrument Cluster (IC) again.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
