Pinpoint Test T: The Cruise Control Indicator Is Never/Always On

Normal Operation

The Instrument Cluster (IC) receives the cruise control status from the Smart Junction Box (SJB) over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) communication bus. When the cruise control has been engaged, the SJB sends a message to the IC to illuminate the cruise control indicator. The IC sets DTC U0100 in continuous memory if the cruise control message is missing for more than 5 seconds and the IC turns off the cruise control indicator.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- PCM
- IC
