Pinpoint Test X: The Air Bag Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On

Normal Operation

The Instrument Cluster (IC) receives the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) status from the Restraints Control Module (RCM) over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The IC illuminates the air bag warning indicator upon receipt of a message from the RCM.

- DTC U0151 (Lost Communication With The Restraints Control Module [RCM]) - a continuous DTC that sets in the IC if a missing message from the RCM occurs and the IC defaults the air bag warning indicator on.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- RCM
