Pinpoint Test Y: The Anti-Theft Indicator Is Never/Always On

Normal Operation

The Instrument Cluster (IC) controls the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) with the PCM and receives the anti-theft key status from the hardwired PATS transceiver. If there is a PATS concern, the IC anti-theft indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position. The PATS also flashes the anti-theft indicator every 2 seconds at ignition OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent. Refer to Antitheft and Alarm Systems for additional information.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- PATS concern
- IC
