Pinpoint Test AL: An Active Park Assist Message Is Inoperative

Normal Operation

The active park assist system is enabled when the active park assist switch is pressed, the transaxle is in DRIVE (D) and the vehicle speed is below 30 km/h (18 mph). The Instrument Cluster (IC) controls the active park assist messages in the message center based upon the network message received from the Parking Aid Module (PAM) through the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Message center concern

- Active park assist system concern

PINPOINT TEST AL : AN ACTIVE PARK ASSIST MESSAGE IS INOPERATIVE

AL1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

- Close all doors, hood and luggage compartment lid.

- Ignition ON.

- Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays

Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR?

Yes
GO to AL2.

No
GO to Pinpoint Test AH Pinpoint Test AH: The Ready Indicator Is Never/Always On.

AL2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IC (Instrument Cluster) SELF-TEST

- Check for recorded DTCs from the IC (Instrument Cluster) self-test.

Are any IC (Instrument Cluster) DTCs recorded?

Yes
For DTC U0159, GO to Pinpoint Test BE Pinpoint Test BE: DTC U0159.

For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Charts Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes.

No
REFER to Active Parking Assist to diagnose the active park assist system.
