B1960 - Recliner Pot Feedback Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1960 - Recliner POT Feedback Circuit Short To BatteryB1960-1 - Rerun Self-Test
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Turn ignition switch OFF. These two steps "wake up" the driver seat module.
- Open driver side door. This disables delay accessory function.
NOTE: Seat will move a short distance in each direction during self-test.
- Execute self-test.
- Inspect all circuits under seat. Make sure all potentiometers are connected.
- Clear DTCs.
- Rerun self-test.
Is DTC B1960 still present?
YES G0 to B1960-2.
NO SYSTEM operating normally.
B1960-2 - Check For Additional DTCs
Are DTCs B1952, B1956 and B1964 also present?
YES GO to Pinpoint Test B. B - DTCs B1952, B1956 & B1964 Drvr Seat Pot Short To B+ Or Open
NO GO to B1960-3.
B1960-3 - Test Potentiometer Input
- Using a voltmeter, carefully back probe recline up/down potentiometer input circuit 445 (O/LB) on pin C3-3 of driver seat module connector for voltage.
Is voltage greater than 4.5 volts?
YES GO to B1960-4.
NO REPLACE driver seat module. RETEST system.
B1960-4 - Test Potentiometer
- Disconnect connector from potentiometer.
- Disconnect connector C3 from driver seat module.
- Carefully probe recline up/down potentiometer input circuit 445 (O/LB) on pin C3-3 connector of driver seat module for voltage.
Is voltage greater than 4.5 volts?
YES SERVICE circuit 445 (O/LB) for short to 5 volt supply. RETEST system.
NO GO to B1960-5.
B1960-5 - Test Circuit 445 (O/LB)
- Using an ohmmeter, test for continuity on circuit 445 (O/LB) from pin C3-3 to center pin on potentiometer connector.
Is there continuity?
YES GO to B1960-6.
NO SERVICE circuit for open circuit. RETEST system.
B1960-6 - Test Potentiometer Common
- Reconnect connector C3 to driver seat module.
- Test circuit 445 (O/LB) at potentiometer for continuity with ground.
Is there continuity?
YES REPLACE potentiometer. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE circuit 445 (O/LB) for open circuit. RETEST system.
