Battery Negative Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the frame.
3. Disconnect the wires from the negative junction block.
4. Disconnect the negative junction from the frame.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the negative battery cable to the frame.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Clean the grounding area and coat the area with a copper-impregnated ground sealer.

Tighten the cable to the frame bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).

3. Connect the negative junction to the frame.
4. Connect the wires to the negative junction block.
5. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
