Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the service slot plug.
Note: The crankshaft balancer does not have a key-way; so the crankshaft could turn when tightening, causing an improper torque.
5. Install the EN 46547 (1) into the flywheel teeth.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove and discard the crankshaft balancer bolt.
8. Install the J 41816-2 and J 41816-A to the crankshaft balancer.
Note: Do not pull on outer edge of the crankshaft balancer.
9. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
10. Remove the J 41816-2 and J 41816-A .
11. Remove the crankshaft balancer friction washer.
This will be located at the end of the crankshaft balancer or on the crankshaft.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the crankshaft balancer using the EN-48034 .
2. Remove the EN-48034 .
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the crankshaft balancer washer and NEW bolt and tighten to 150 Nm (111 lb ft) plus an additional 180 degrees using the J 45059 .
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the EN 46547 (1) from the flywheel teeth.
6. Install the service slot plug.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
