Detent Valve and Modulator









^ Tools Required:
- J 23100 Modulator Wrench
- J 23075 Servo and Clutch Piston Compressor
- J 38428 Servo Piston Ring Sleeve

Inspect
1. Detent valve sleeve (111) for nicks, scratches, or scoring.
2. Detent valve (110) for nicks, or scoring.
3. Modulator plunger (116) for nicks, scratches, or scoring.
4. Modulator valve sleeve (114) for nicks, scratches, or scoring.
5. Modulator valve (115) for nicks, scratches, or scoring.

ASSEMBLE
1. Detent valve spring (108), spring seat (109), detent valve (110) in sleeve (111), sleeve seal (113), and retaining pin (112). SLOTS IN DETENT VALVE SLEEVE FACE PAN.
- Lubricate with DEXRON transmission fluid.
2. Modulator valve sleeve (114), small end first.
- TAB MUST ENGAGE SLOT IN MODULATOR BORE.
3. Modulator valve (115) and plunger (116).
4. O-ring seal (117) onto the modulator assembly (118).

NOTICE: Use of another tool to install the vacuum modulator may result in internal damage to the modulator.

5. Modulator assembly (118).

Tighten
- Modulator to 52 N.m (38 lb. ft.) with J 23100
