DTC P1183: Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit High Voltage1. Reset the PCM.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Is DTC P1183 indicated?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the fuel temperature sensor and at the PCM.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor 2P connector.
5. Measure resistance between fuel temperature sensor 2P connector terminals No.1 and No.2.
Is the resistance OK (see the graph)?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Replace the fuel temperature sensor.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect PCM connector E (31P).
8. Connect the fuel temperature sensor 2P connector terminals No.1 and No.2 with a jumper wire.
9. Check for continuity between PCM terminal A10 and E17.
Is there continuity?
YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck.
If the symptom/indication goes away with a known good PCM, replace the original PCM.
NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM (A10, E17) and fuel temperature sensor.
