B1625
Component Location
General Description
Personal IC Card system(hereinafter referred to PIC system) makes user more convenient by locking/unlocking door and starting engine without using mechanical key or remote controller. The push switch , attached to the Knob of the MSL, sends driver's intension for starting. If driver with PIC FOB presses push switch, SMART KEY ECU searches FOB with valid ID inside and Once valid FOB is founded, SMART KEY ECU sends release signal to MSL. Then MSL is released by operating solenoid in MSL. After checking the change lever position is "P", SMART KEY ECU makes engine be able to be started by transmitting key confirmation information to engine ECM.
DTC Description
The ECM sets DTC"B1625" if there is an communication error between SMART KEY ECU and EMS.
DTC Detecting Condition
Schematic Diagram
Monitor DTC Status
1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)"mode and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.

W/Harness Inspection
1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
Signal(EMS Com) Circuit Open Inspection
1. IG KEY : OFF.
2. PIC IMMOBILIZER MODULE, BCM connector : Disconnect.
3. Measure resistance between Signal(EMS COM) of PIC IMMOBILIZER MODULE harness connector and Signal(EMS COM) of ECM harness connector.
Specification :1Ohms below
4. Is "resistance" display near the specified value?
Signal(EMS Com) Circuit Ground Short Inspection
1. IG KEY : OFF.
2. PIC IMMOBILIZER MODULE, ECM connector : Disconnect.
3. Measure resistance between Signal(EMS COM) of PIC IMMOBILIZER MODULE harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification :Infinity
4. Is "resistance" display near the specified value?
Verification Of Vehicle Repair
After a repair, it is essential to verifying that the fault has been corrected.
1. Connect scan tool and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)" mode.
2. Using scantool, Clear DTC.
3. Operate the vehicle within DTC Enable conditions in General information.
4. Are any DTCs present ?
