REAR DOOR GLASS AND REGULATOR

Removal and Installation












REAR DOOR GLASS

NOTE:
RH front door panel shown; LH similar.
Removal
1.Remove the rear door finisher. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.





2.Position aside the rear door vapor barrier (1).
3.Temporarily reconnect the rear power window switch.

4.Operate the rear power window switch to raise/lower the rear door glass until the rear door regulator to glass bolts can be seen.
5.Remove rear door inside seal.
6.Remove the rear door glass rear run channel.





7.Remove the rear door regulator to glass bolts and rear door glass (1).
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.





Fitting Inspection
- Check that the rear door glass is securely fit into the rear door glass run channel.
- Lower the rear door glass slightly [approximately 10 to 20 mm (0.4 to 0.8 in)], and check that the clearance to the sash is parallel. If the clearance between the rear door glass and sash is not parallel, loosen the rear door regulator to glass bolts, guide rail bolts, and rear door glass and carrier plate bolts to correct the rear door glass position.

REAR DOOR GLASS REGULATOR

Removal
1.Remove the rear door finisher. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.





2.Position aside the vapor barrier (1).
3.Temporarily reconnect the rear power window switch.

4.Operate the rear power window switch to raise/lower the rear door glass until the rear door regulator to glass bolts can be seen.
5.Remove the rear door inside seal.
6.Remove the rear door regulator to glass bolts.
7.Raise the rear door glass and hold in place with suitable tool or approximately two inches of masking tape.





8.Remove the bolts (B) from the rear door glass regulator (1) and guide channel nuts (A).





9.Disconnect the harness connector from the rear door glass regulator motor (1).
10.Remove rear door regulator to glass bolts (B) and the rear door glass regulator.
Inspection after removal
Check the rear door glass regulator for the following items:
- Gear wear
- Rear door glass regulator deformation
- Spring damage
- Grease condition for each sliding part
If a malfunction is detected, replace or grease it.
Installation





1.Connect the harness connector to the rear door glass regulator, then install the rear door glass regulator and guide channel and secure with bolts and nuts.










2.Install the rear door glass from outside to ensure that it is in both the rear door front and rear glass channels. Tighten glass bolts to the specified torque.





3.Install the rear door inside seal.
4.Reposition the vapor barrier.
5.Install the rear door finisher. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
