FRONT BUMPER

Removal and Installation


REMOVAL


CAUTION:
Bumper fascia is made of resin. Never apply strong force to it, and be careful to prevent contact with oil.
1.Fully open hood assembly.
2.Remove front grille. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
3.Remove bumper molding.
1.Remove front fender drip cover. Refer to "FRONT FENDER DRIP COVER : Removal and Installation" .





2.Remove bumper molding upper fixing screws (A) (LH and
RH).










3.Remove bumper molding fixing clips (A).





4.Pull bumper molding (1) toward the direction shown in the figure, and then disengage bumper molding fixing metal clips (LH and RH).





5.Remove bumper molding.
4.Remove front over fender front side. Refer to "Removal and Installation" .
5.Remove clips of bumper upper side.





6.Remove bumper fascia assembly fixing screws (A) (LH and
RH).





7.Pull bumper fascia assembly toward the vehicle outside as shown by the arrow in the figure, and then disengage the bumper fascia assembly from bumper side brackets (LH and
RH).





8.Disconnect corner sensor harness connector and fog lamp harness connector.
9.Remove bumper fascia assembly.

CAUTION:
When removing bumper fascia assembly, 2 workers are required so as to prevent it from dropping.
10.Remove the following parts after removing bumper fascia assembly.
- Front grille lower molding.
- Front bumper grille.
- Sonar sensor (LH and RH). Refer to "Removal and Installation" Service and Repair.
- Front fog lamp assembly (LH and RH). Refer to"Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation .
- Front fog lamp finishers (LH and RH)
- Bumper side bracket (LH and RH)
- License plate bracket
11.Remove bumper upper retainer.

INSTALLATION

Note the following item, and then install in the reverse order of removal.
Install License Plate Bracket According To The Following Procedures

CAUTION:
Situate the vehicle on a flat and solid surface.
1.Open positioning holes (2) [diameter 8.0 mm (0.315 in)] on bumper fascia (1) based on small dimples (3) as shown in the figure.









2.Install J nuts to license plate bracket.





3.Insert locate pins (4) of license plate bracket (3) into positioning holes (2) of bumper fascia (1).
Align license plate bracket installation holes to the small dimple positions, and then fix license plate bracket using double-sided tape [t: 1.2 mm (0.047 in)].

CAUTION:
Always replace double-sided tape with a new one, if license plate bracket reused.
4.Tighten mounting screws to install license plate bracket.
NOTE:





- The following table shows the specified values for checking normal installation status.
- Fitting adjustment cannot be performed.
