Cylinder Head - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Remove cowl grille (4).
2. Perform the Fuel System Pressure Release procedure Service and Repair. Disconnect the fuel supply line Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
4. Drain cooling system Service and Repair.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly Air Cleaner Body - Removal.





6. Remove closed crankcase ventilation system.
7. Disconnect the exhaust at the exhaust manifolds.
8. Disconnect the evaporation control system.
9. Disconnect heater hoses (2).





10. Remove the power steering pump.
11. Remove cylinder head covers using the sequence provided, and gaskets Cylinder Head Cover(s) - Removal.





12. Remove intake manifold and throttle body as an assemblyIntake Manifold - Removal.
13. Remove rocker arm assemblies and push rods. Identify to ensure installation in original locations. Valve Rocker Arm - Removal.





14. Remove the head bolts from each cylinder head(s), using the sequence provided. Remove cylinder head(s) and discard the cylinder head gasket(s).
