Vibration Damper - Installation

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: To prevent severe damage to the crankshaft, damper, and damper installer 8512A, thoroughly clean the damper bore and the crankshaft nose before installing damper.





1. Position damper onto crankshaft.
2. Assemble Damper Installer 8512A (2) , and the Pressing Cup (1) from A/C Hub Installer 6871.





3. Using Damper Installer 8512A (3), and the pressing cup (2) from A/C hub installer 6871 press damper (1) onto crankshaft.
4. Install and tighten crankshaft damper bolt to 176 Nm (129 ft. lbs.).
5. Install cooling fan.
6. Install radiator upper shroud and tighten fasteners to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.).
7. Install radiator upper hose.
8. Install accessory drive belt (1). Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
9. Refill cooling system Service and Repair.
10. Connect negative cable to battery.
