Upper
UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD
1. Clean the gasket surfaces and remove the covering from the lower intake manifold ports.
2. Inspect the intake manifold gasket condition (gaskets can be re-used if not damaged).
3. Position the intake manifold gaskets into the seal channels and press lightly into place.
4. Position the upper intake manifold onto the lower intake manifold.
5. Apply Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive (Medium Strength Threadlocker) to each upper intake manifold bolt.
6. Install the intake manifold bolts and tighten bolts in the sequence shown to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
7. Connect the PCV hose (1) to the upper intake manifold.
8. Connect the power brake booster hose (1) at the rear of the intake manifold (2).
9. If removed, install the MAP sensor (1) at the rear of the intake manifold (3) by pushing down on the MAP sensor while rotating clockwise about 1/4 turn.
10. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2).
CAUTION: The special screws used for attaching the EGR tube to the manifold must be installed slowly using hand tools only. This requirement is to prevent the melting of material that causes stripped threads. If threads become stripped, an oversize repair screw is available.
11. Install the EGR tube (1) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Tube - Installation.
12. Connect the EVAP hose to the throttle body (1).
13. Connect the throttle body electrical connector (3).
14. Install the air cleaner and air inlet hose assembly (1).
15. Connect the inlet air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector (2).
16. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
