Generator
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

3 Remove the intake manifold.
For additional information, refer to Intake Manifold Service and Repair
4 Disconnect the generator harness.
5 Remove the generator.
CAUTION: Mark the components to aid installation.
6 Remove the coupling.
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
7 Remove the dowels.
8 Remove the generator coupling.
Special Service Tool
Aligner, Timing Cover, 303-1278
Special Service Tool
Socket, Flywheel Bolt, 303-502
Installation
1 Install the generator coupling.
Torque to: 75 Nm
2 Install the locating dowels flush with the generator casing.
NOTE:
Make sure that the installation marks are aligned.
3 Install the coupling.
4 Locate the generator and install and lightly tighten the upper bolts.
5 Using the special tool, install the dowels to align the generator.
Special Service Tool
Installer, Generator dowels, 303-1255
6 Tighten the generator bolts.
Torque to: 24 Nm
7 Connect the generator harness and tighten the nut.
Torque to: 12 Nm
8 Install the intake manifold.

9 Connect the battery ground cable.
