Selector Lever Cable
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
CAUTION: Make sure that the selector lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Remove the driveshaft.

3 Remove the floor console.

4 Remove the air cleaner assembly.
For additional information, refer to Air Cleaner Service and Repair
5 Remove the instrument panel, lower trim panels.
6 Remove the RH instrument pack lower bracket.
Position the transmission selector lever into PARK.
Depress and hold the selector cable ball joint release button, using a lever carefully disconnect the cable.
Disconnect and remove the cable.
7 Release the cable sealing plate.
NOTE:

8 Remove the gear selector cable assembly.
Installation
NOTE:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
1 Install the selector cable.
2 Secure the cables in the clips.
3 Install the heat shield.
4 Secure the selector cables.
5 Install the sealing plate.
Torque to: 7 Nm
6 Install the gearshift lever.
Torque to: 10 Nm
7 Connect the selector cable ball joints.
8 Install the instrument pack bracket.
Torque to: 25 Nm
9 Secure the drain tube and heater duct.
10 Install the instrument panel, lower trim panels.
11 Install the air cleaner assembly.

12 Install the floor console.

13 Install the driveshaft.
