DESCRIPTION

The master cylinder pressure sensor and the wheel cylinder pressure sensor, which are built into the brake actuator, measure the master cylinder pressure and the wheel cylinder pressure and send to the skid control ECU.
DTC C1281/81 can be deleted when the master cylinder pressure sensor sends a master cylinder pressure signal or the Test Mode ends. DTC C1281/81 is output only in the Test Mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration Initialization.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN SKID CONTROL ECU AND BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and brake actuator connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU
(a) Connect the skid control ECU connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
HINT: Measure the voltage from the back side of the connector with the connector connected to the skid control ECU.

Voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Select the Data List mode on Techstream.

ABS / VSC / TRAC:





(c) Check the output value of the master cylinder pressure sensor on the Techstream display.
OK:
When the pedal is depressed, displayed voltage on Techstream increases.
NG -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (WHEEL CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR)
SST: 09709-29018
(a) Connect the pedal effort gauge.
(b) Install the LSPV gauge (SST) and bleed air On-Vehicle Inspection.
(c) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(d) Select the Data List mode on Techstream.

ABS / VSC / TRAC:





(e) Check the output value of the wheel cylinder pressure sensor at each fluid pressure during the Electronically Controlled Brake control.
