C1346
BRAKE CONTROL: ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM: C1247/47: Stroke Sensor Malfunction
DTC C1247/47 - Stroke Sensor Malfunction
DTC C1346/71 - Stroke Sensor Zero Point Learning Malfunction (Test Mode DTC)
DTC C1392/48 - Stroke Sensor Zero Point Calibration Undone
DESCRIPTION
The stroke sensor inputs the pedal stroke into the skid control ECU.
DTC C1346/71 can be deleted when the brake pedal stroke sensor sends a stroke sensor signal or the Test Mode ends. DTC C1346/71 is output only in the Test Mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration Initialization.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL
(a) Check that the brake pedal and the brake pedal stroke sensor are properly installed and that the pedal can be operated normally.
(b) Check the brake pedal height.
OK:
The brake pedal is securely installed.
The pedal height is within the specified range Adjustments.
NG -- ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on.
(c) Select the Data List mode on Techstream.
ABS / VSC / TRAC:
(d) Read the pedal stroke sensor voltage value on the Techstream screen.
OK:
The value displayed on Techstream is within the normal range.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN SKID CONTROL ECU AND BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE AND CALIBRATION
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on.
(c) Check the same DTCs are recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
HINT: This DTC may be memorized due to a malfunction in the connector terminal connection, etc.
B -- END
A -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN SKID CONTROL ECU AND BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and brake pedal stroke sensor connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (VCSK, SKG TERMINAL)
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
HINT: Measure the voltage from the back side of the connector with the connector connected to the skid control ECU.
Voltage:
NG -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (SKS1, SKS2 TERMINAL)
(a) Connect the brake pedal stroke sensor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
HINT:
- Measure the voltage from behind the connector with the connector connected to the skid control ECU.
- Slowly depress the brake pedal and check if the voltage between the skid control ECU terminal and body ground changes in accordance with the pedal operation.
Voltage:
NG -- REPLACE BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR
OK -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
