P310 HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0A2C-247: Drive Motor "A" Temperature Sensor Circuit Low

DTC P0A2C-247 - Drive Motor "A" Temperature Sensor Circuit Low

DTC P0A2D-249 - Drive Motor "A" Temperature Sensor Circuit High

DESCRIPTION

The resistance of the thermistor built into the motor temperature sensor changes in accordance with changes in Motor temperature. The lower the Motor temperature, the higher the thermistor resistance. Conversely, the higher the temperature, the lower the resistance.

HINT: After confirming that DTC P0A2C-247 or P0A2D-249 is output, use the Techstream to check "Motor Temp No. 2" in the HV system ECU data list.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (LOOSENESS AND POOR CONTACT)

(a) Check the connections of all HV control ECU connectors.
OK:
Connectors are connected securely and there is no poor connection.
NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result:

A -- INSPECT MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
B -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT)

(a) Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result::

NOTE: Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.

A -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
B -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT)
(a) Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
(b) Disconnect the M15 motor temperature sensor connector.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NOTE: Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.
HINT: The motor temperature sensor is not available as a single product. If it requires replacement, replace the HV transaxle assembly.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
5. INSPECT MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
(b) Disconnect the M15 motor temperature sensor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

Standard Resistance:

HINT: The motor temperature sensor is not available as a single product. If it requires replacement, replace the HV transaxle assembly.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
