Short to B+ in CAN Bus Line
DESCRIPTION
There may be a short circuit between the CAN bus line and B+ if there is continuity between terminals 6 (CANH) and 16 (BAT), or terminals 14 (CANL) and 16 (BAT) of the DLC3.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (DLC3 SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the DLC3 sub bus line connector (J54) from the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the DLC3 sub bus line connector (J54) to the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (CAN BUSES TO CAN RH J/C)
(a) Disconnect the CAN main bus line connector (J27) from the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
4. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the CAN main bus line connector (J27) to the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (POWER STEERING ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the power steering ECU sub bus line connector (J50) from the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
6. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the power steering ECU sub bus line connector (J50) to the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (GATEWAY ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the gateway ECU sub bus line connector (J53) from the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
8. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the gateway ECU sub bus line connector (J53) to the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the distance control ECU sub bus line connector (J51) from the CAN center J/C B side (without earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
10. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the distance control ECU sub bus line connector (J51) to the CAN center J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (STEERING SENSOR MAIN BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the steering sensor connector (S10).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE STEERING SENSOR
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING SENSOR MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
12. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the power steering ECU sub bus line connector (J50) to the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
13. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (POWER STEERING ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the power steering ECU connector (P41).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
14. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the gateway ECU sub bus line connector (J53) to the CAN center J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
15. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the gateway ECU connector (G3).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE GATEWAY ECU
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE GATEWAY ECU SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
16. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the distance control ECU sub bus line connector (J51) to the CAN center J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
17. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the distance control ECU connector (D2).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
18. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the CAN main bus line connector (J27) to the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
19. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (SKID CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J22) from the CAN RH J/C A side (with earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
20. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J22) to the CAN RH J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
21. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J26) from the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
- Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
- Reconnect the connector to its original position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- CONNECT CONNECTOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
22. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J26) to the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
23. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (HV CONTROL ECU MAIN BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the HV control ECU connector (H30).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE HV CONTROL ECU
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HV CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
24. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J22) to the CAN RH J/C A side (with earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
25. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (SKID CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector (S39).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
26. CONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Reconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J26) to the CAN RH J/C B side (without earth terminal).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
27. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT TO +B (YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE)
(a) Disconnect the yaw rate sensor ECU connector (Y1).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
OK -- REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
