DTC P2601-779 - Coolant Pump Control Circuit Range / Performance

DESCRIPTION
HINT: This is the repair procedure for the "oil pump control circuit".

The HV control ECU detects the Generator and Motor temperature through signals from the generator and motor temperature sensors and activates the oil pump relay and oil pump driver (oil pump w/ motor assembly).
The HV control ECU monitors OPST signals from the oil pump driver and detects a malfunction.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When troubleshooting the oil pump w/ motor assembly, check for the following conditions:

- ATF temperature inside the oil cooler is 41 °F (5°C) or more.
- Value of the ambient temperature sensor is 41 °F (5°C) or more.

PROCEDURE

1. READ OUTPUT DTC (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Read output DTCs. Hybrid Control System

Result:
DTC P0A08-264 is output.
YES -- GO TO DTC CHART
NO -- Continue to next step.
2. RECONFIRM OUTPUT DTC (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(f) Read output DTCs. Hybrid Control System

Result:
DTC P0A08-264 is output again.
NO -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
YES -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - OIL PUMP - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the cable from the positive auxiliary battery terminal.





(b) Remove the oil pump relay from the engine room R/B No.4.
(c) Disconnect the O9 oil pump w/ motor assembly connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






Standard Resistance:
Combined resistance (R1, R2 and R3) of each part in the wire harness is below 6 Ohms.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.





(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Inspection Mode-2WD Inspection.
(d) Put the vehicle into the READY on state.
(e) Check the waveform between the terminals of the HV control ECU.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
OK -- REPLACE OIL PUMP W/ MOTOR ASSEMBLY
