LIN Communication System





NETWORKING: LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: TERMINALS OF ECU

1. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)





(a) Disconnect the 2D, 2F and 2K instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connectors disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the 2D, 2F and 2K instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) may be malfunctioning.

2. CHECK FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Disconnect the J1 front power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the J1 front power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the front power window regulator motor assembly LH may be malfunctioning.

3. CHECK FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Disconnect the I2 front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the I2 front power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the front power window regulator motor assembly RH may be malfunctioning.

4. CHECK REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Disconnect the K2 rear power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the K2 rear power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the rear power window regulator motor assembly RH may be malfunctioning.

5. CHECK REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Disconnect the L2 rear power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the L2 rear power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the rear power window regulator motor assembly LH may be malfunctioning.

6. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the J7 multiplex network master switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the J7 multiplex network master switch assembly connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the multiplex network master switch assembly may be malfunctioning.

7. CHECK SLIDING ROOF ECU (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect the T2 sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the T2 sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) may be malfunctioning.

8. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect the F58 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the F58 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(d) Measure the voltage and check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) may be malfunctioning.

9. CHECK ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU)





(a) Disconnect the F45 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the F45 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) may be malfunctioning.

10. CHECK STEERING LOCK ECU (STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect the F37 steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the F37 steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) may be malfunctioning.

11. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU





(a) Disconnect the F8 power management control ECU connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the F8 power management control ECU connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the power management control ECU may be malfunctioning.

12. ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)





(a) Disconnect the G1 connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance and check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the G1 connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the accessory meter assembly may be malfunctioning.

13. CHECK AFS ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

(d) Measure the voltage or check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) may be malfunctioning.

14. CHECK INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ Automatic High Beam System)





(a) Disconnect the T5 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the T5 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

(d) Measure the voltage or check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the inner rear view mirror assembly may be malfunctioning.

15. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the F42 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





(b) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

(c) Reconnect the F42 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

(d) Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.





(d) If the result is not as specified, the windshield wiper relay assembly may malfunctioning.
