B2414 - Steering Position Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The headlight swivel ECU receives signals indicating the steering angle from the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly (steering angle sensor) using CAN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in How to Proceed with Troubleshooting to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this problem.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not occur.

NG -- REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

2. REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)

(a) Temporarily replace the spiral cable with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not reoccur.

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- END (REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY) Removal
