Inner Rear View Mirror

MIRROR (INT): INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o Automatic High Beam System)

(a) Check the operation of the electrochromic mirror.

(1) Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal 1 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (E).

(2) w/ Compass:

Push the EC Mirror ON/OFF switch labeled A.

(3) w/o Compass:

Push the EC Mirror ON switch labeled A.

(4) Check that the LED labeled B in the illustration is illuminated.

(5) Attach black-colored tape to the forward sensor to prevent it from sensing light.

(6) Shine an electric light on the mirror. Check that the mirror surface changes from bright to dark.

HINT
When the environment is very bright, the antiglare operation may occur immediately after the tape is applied.

If the result is not as specified, replace the inner rear view mirror assembly.

2. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ Automatic High Beam System)

(a) Check the operation of the electrochromic mirror.
