DESCRIPTION

* When the ECM detects a cruise control switch on signal from the cruise control switch, the ECM sends the signal to the combination meter assembly through CAN communication. Then the cruise control indicator light turns on.

* The cruise control indicator light circuit uses CAN communication. If there is a malfunction in this circuit, check for DTCs in the CAN communication system before troubleshooting this circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Select the item below in the Active Test, and then check that the cruise control indicator light illuminates Data List / Active List.

Combination Meter





OK:

Cruise control indicator light turns on/off.

NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the cruise control switch is functioning properly Data List / Active List.

OK:

On screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- REPLACE ECM Removal

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table
