DESCRIPTION

* When the front doors are closed, each power window regulator motor can control its power window operation for approximately 43 seconds after the engine switch is turned from ON to off by receiving operation permission signals from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). However, when approximately 43 seconds have elapsed, or a front side door is opened within approximately 43 seconds of the engine switch being turned off, all the power window regulator motors disable manual operation.

* During the auto function operation, when 43 seconds have elapsed and key-off operation is prohibited, the window operation stops immediately.

* The front passenger side power window and the rear power windows cannot be operated when the window lock switch is on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Check for LIN communication system DTCs related to the power window control system LIN Communication System.

OK:

LIN communication system DTCs are not output.

NG -- GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM LIN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK POWER WINDOW OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER ENGINE SWITCH TURNED OFF

(a) Check the power window operation function after the engine switch is turned off Operation Check.

B -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

4. CHECK FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Open a front door and check that the map light illuminates Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:

Map light illuminates.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily replace the driver side junction block with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the front door open and close function.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

OK -- END (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
