INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTC.

Result

B -- GO TO VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (STEERING CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE)

(a) Disconnect the K70 steering control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CANH, CANL)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A40 and K69 steering control ECU connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE STEERING CONTROL ECU
