DTC B2425 - Headlight Leveling Motor RH Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU receives a signal from the headlight swivel motor using LIN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2424 or B2425 output does not occur.
NG -- READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (AFS ECU)
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (AFS ECU)
(a) Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, read the Data List.
(1) Intelligent tester

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT)





(a) for HID Headlight (w/o Driver Monitor Camera):
(1) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the B2 and B12 motor connectors.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

for LH





for RH





(b) for HID Headlight (w/ Driver Monitor Camera), LED Headlight:
(1) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the B1 and B11 motor connectors.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY





(a) for HID Headlight (w/o Driver Monitor Camera):
(1) Disconnect the B3 and B13 motor connectors.
(2) Disconnect the leveling motor connector.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

(b) for HID Headlight (w/ Driver Monitor Camera), LED Headlight:
(1) Disconnect the B1 and B11 motor connectors.
(2) Disconnect the motor connector.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

6. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the headlight leveling motor with a new or normally functioning one.
HINT:
- for HID Headlight Disassembly.
- for LED Headlight Disassembly.
(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2424 or B2425 output does not occur.
