DTC C1946 - Malfunction in Signal from Steering Control ECU to Front Active Stabilizer Control ECU
DESCRIPTION
If the front active stabilizer control ECU receives a Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system malfunction signal, DTC C1946 is output. If VGRS system related DTCs are output, perform a diagnosis for those DTCs. If no VGRS system DTCs are output, there may be a malfunction in the front active stabilizer control ECU.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC (VGRS SYSTEM)
(a) Turn the power switch OFF.
(b) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (READY) and the tester ON.
(d) Check that VGRS system DTCs are not output Variable Gear Ratio Steering System.
OK:
DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO VGRS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART)
OK -- REPLACE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
