P0705-757
L110F HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0705-757: Transmission Range Sensor Circuit
DTC P0705-757 - Transmission Range Sensor Circuit
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The park/neutral position switch can send 8 different switch signals to the hybrid vehicle control ECU. The hybrid vehicle control ECU uses the signals to detect the shift lever position (P, R, N, or D). The hybrid vehicle control ECU also uses this information to determine intended direction of travel (forward or reverse).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SHIFT POSITION)
(a) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / HV ECU / DATA LIST / SHIFT SW P, SHIFT SW R, SHIFT SW N, SHIFT SW D, SHIFT SW RV, SHIFT SW FD, SHIFT SW MJ.
(2) Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Shift Sensor SW - P, Shift Sensor SW - R, Shift Sensor SW - N, Shift Sensor SW - D, Shift Sensor SW - RV, Shift Sensor SW - FD, Shift Sensor SW - MJ,.
(d) While slowly moving the shift lever from P to D, and then back to the P position, read the data list (shift position) displayed on the tester.
HINT: Make sure to move the shift lever slowly.
OK:
Intelligent Tester:
Techstream:
(e) Check if DTCs are output.
OK:
DTC P0705-757 is not output.
NG -- CHECK PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
(a) Check for intermittent problems. Check For Intermittent Problems
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
3. CHECK PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect connector E55 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open):
Standard resistance (Check for open):
NOTE: *1: The resistance between terminals E55-1 (+BS) and E55-15 (N) should be between 4.2 and 5.2 kOhms.
NG -- INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
4. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open):
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NOTE: *1: The resistance between terminals E65-7 (+B) and E65-2 (N) should be between 4.2 and 5.2 kOhms.
NG -- REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
