DTC P3107-213 - Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION
- The hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a problem in the collision signal line from the airbag ECU assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)
(a) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.

B -- GO TO DTC CHART
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)





(a) Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag ECU assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

3. CLEAR DTC
(a) Select the following menu items:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
(b) Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
(c) Select the following menu items:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR / DTC INFO.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
(d) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Select the following menu items:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / HV ECU / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(2) Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if DTCs are output.

5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
(a) Check for intermittent problems. Check For Intermittent Problems

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
6. CHECK AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY





(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Disconnect connector L73 from the airbag ECU assembly.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY)





(a) Disconnect connector A76 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
